Welcome, My Friend, to THE DARKMOON FAIRE!
-----------A Spin Off of the Darkmoon Faire, referencing the Cataclysmic version of the Darkmoon Faire-----------
Yes, indeed. Saphira Industries proudly presents the new and improved, "Darkmoon Faire". Look no further. The Faire will once more have purpose on this server and the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The Darkmoon Faire will always appear in Mulgore and Elwynn Forest, as usual. However, a portal will be added in the future that will appear there for the Faire! Similar to the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm's version. The Faire will now have it's own unique area and location. All the former residents will be featured here and even new ones!
1. HOW TO GET THERE:
The Darkmoon Faire can be found at one of three locations: Outside Goldshire in Elwynn Forest, outside Thunder Bluff in Mulgore, and on the outskirts of Shattrath City in Outland's Terokkar Forest. The Calendar will display when the Darkmoon Faire will be coming to town. Players can reach the new Darkmoon Faire via the portal in the Darkmoon Faire Staging Grounds that are set up near one of their major cities. Upon taking the portal, the players will appear within the Karazhan's Crypts.
2. The Well of the Forgotten (The Darkmoon Faire Path):
The players will find themselves within this area. They are able to walk down the stairs to notice a row of tents with an entrance they must access. Darkmoon Bruisers are here to keep peace in the area. Spirits of the Forgotten roam the area. A Darkmoon Fortune Teller will be seen before an Altar and in front of her a Portal to Dalaran will be available if the players wish to return there. The area is pretty short, but another passageway is shown to it's left that is much larger in comparison. Players will have three passageways to choose from in the middle. Walking straight and standing in the middle. Players are able to look to their left, they will notice a portal to Orgrimmar (Horde only) or a portal to Stormwind (Alliance only). These portals can also be used to leave the area. Before them, the Darkmoon Bruisers will stand before an unique portal that they will guard. But be warned, it is there that they will perform their first Faire's trick (Ahead of You, Down the Path
). Upon approaching the portal, players will realize it truly was a trick. They will fall through the floor and the portal only being there for decoration. They will fall below into the next part. The next being "The Pit of Criminals".
3. The Pit of Criminals (The Darkmoon Faire Staging Area):
The players will find themselves within this area next, but will they make it alive? Upon falling down, the players could die from the fall or survive the fall. If the player dies, they will have to wait 20 seconds until ressurecting exactly where they died. Later on, the Darkmoon Bruisers will be able to provide you slow fall upon request. Make sure to pay close attention upon entering the Faire. The Pit of Criminals is where the Darkmoon Faire Staging Area is located. All the old vendors, even now, will be featured here now. Those that have been done will be explained now and the area that have been opened as well. First, we will begin to explain this area. Players will get to experience to see Silas Darkmoon and his whole band here, including "The Rulkster". A dumb, witted tallest man alive and another of Silas' bodyguards. Tents are set up in the area with beds that the Darkmoon Faire Carnies used for their leader, Silas, and for the Faire's visitors. Selina Dourman greets the visits of the Darkmoon Faire upon the large pile of bones they land on upon arriving at the area. She will provide any Darkmoon Information you require. All your old quest people are here, but also with a twist! A large lake is located in the middle that is filled with frogs, trees reaching up into the Dark Crypts, and spirits that roam the Mystic Faire. An Orgrimmar and Stormwind portal can be found here, with the Dalaran one now absent. Two Kirin Tor Mailboxes can be found here and the High Elf, Aimee, has come here from Dalaran City to try to see how their business would advance here. She has opened her own stand next to Stamp Thunderhorn. Gaze upon the Darkmoon Changes that are currently featured below:
- Sylannia, the <Darkmoon Faire Drink Vendor>, offers more than you think now. She is now alone in her own hut that has been reinforced with her new exotic goods and upgrades. With her tauren buddy moving out. For 100 Winterfin Clams, players are able to purchase a world drop recipe called the "Savory Deviate Delight". It is revealed she is a heavy hunter for "Frozen Orb" that she reveals to use for her own special drinks for the Darkmoon Faire. If you specialize in Cooking, you are in luck! Sylannia is after your Dalaran Cooking Awards as well and will trade them if you no longer require them for any other matters. Cooking has become very important now and if you have the nerve to level it, it will surely feel more rewarded than you think. Players are able to purchase the "Sons of Hodir Commendation Badge, Argent Crusade Commendation Badge, Kirin Tor Commendation Badge, Argent Dawn Valor Token, and Zandalar Honor Token" from her for the Dalaran Cooking Awards. 10 Tokens are required to purchase one badge (10 days or 7 of farming at least). If you wonder why Dalaran Cooking Awards award you reputation? Simple! She trades in those awards and mails real drinks to your faction of your choosing! Players may also purchase "Barrel of Fish", where she stored the "Forgotten Fish" from Outland for 5 Dalaran Cooking Awards. This Barrel, however, has a chance to provide Lich King Cooking Recipes needed for your achievement collection. Note, that just like the Spicy Bag. It is a very low drop rate to provide these recipes. But thanks to her, it could be achieved a tiny bit faster. All depending on your luck, of course. Players are also able to purchase "Silvermoon Commendation, Orgrimmar Commendation, Darkspear Commendation, Undercity Commendation, and Thunder Bluff Commendation Badges" from her (Horde Only) for 6 "Frozen Orbs" each. Players are also able to purchase "Stormwind Commendation, Ironforge Commendation, Gnomeregan Commendation, Darnassus Commendation, and Exodar Commendation Badges" from her (Alliance Only) for 6 "Frozen Orbs" each." This includes "Technique: Rituals of the New Moon" for 4 "Frozen Orbs". She will use her drinks to spread your glory of how you got those orbs to your faction leaders and use it to make more drinks for the Faire! She will ask for 25 "Ethereal Credits" that she uses for her "dark purposes". However, if you provide her with the Credits. She will give you one Darkmoon Faire Ticket! She will also sell "Sulfuron Slammer" now, including "Star's Sorrow" for "1 Gold and 5 Winterfin Clams", instead of 12 honor points.
- Professor Thaddeus Paleo, <Darkmoon Faire Cards & Exotic Goods>, offers more unique stuff to sell. Lhara has moved out of his area and has opened her own stand. Leaving the poor Professor to advance his own business alone, but it has been going swell! The Professor no longer provides any scrolls and continues his "Darkmoon Card" service. However, he now also exchanges specific currency for Darkmoon Prize Tickets. The players are able to exchange the following amount of currencies for "1 Darkmoon Prize Ticket": 8 "Necrotic Runes", 1 "Primordial Saronite, ", 10 "Inks of the Sea, 3 "Apexis Crystals", 160 "Apexis Shards", 8 "Holy Dusts", 8 "Arcane Runes, 50 "Spirit Shards", 5 "Coins of Ancestry", 1304 "Arena Points", 15 "Emblem of Valor", 8 "Halaa Research Token", 15 "Emblems of Valor", and 15 "Emblems of Triumph", 15 "Badges of Justice", 15 "Emblems of Heroism", 40 "Stone Keeper's Shard", 5 "Mark of Honor Hold", 5 "Mark of Thrallmar". Players may also purchase a "Necrotic Rune" from the Professor for 1 "Primordial Saronite". The Professor is the first and only vendor to offer such an exchange. He is the first vendor to also sell mounts. A "Brown Polar Bear Mount" for 30 "Necrotic Runes", while the Black Polar Bear Mount is sold for 40 "Necrotic Runes".
- Flik, the Orc Child that roams the Faire, stands overlooking a pond and has begun his own "Frog Choir". His own Frog leads the Tree Frogs and Wood Frogs to swim. Flik has been fascinated in the Spirits that roam the area and has become darker due to this matter. Flik provides his usual Frog Companion Pet selling, but also sells other material people would perhaps want from him. Flik sells various goods in "limited supply". The "old versions" of mana and healing potions are sold here, along with herbs. He does not sell Lich King herbs at all. He sells a limited supply of level 70 scrolls, while the others below that level he sells at all times. He also sells level 70 Motes in a limited supply. Flik has also become a currency exchange in his own way. The players are able to exchange the following amount of currencies for "1 Darkmoon Prize Ticket": 1 "Lovely Charm Bracelet", 15k "Honor Points", and 20 "Burning Blossoms". Players may also purchase 1 "Necrotic Rune" from him for 350 "Burning Blossoms". Flik is the first and only vendor to offer such an exchange for that Holiday Currency to be able to be converted for a Necrotic Rune.
- Stamp Thunderhorn, the <Darkmoon Faire Food Vendor>, has opened his own stand now and has upgraded his goods. He offers various Cooking recipes for sale now that can be acquired around Azeroth, while he also sells supplies for currencies exchange as well, while still selling all of his old food supplies he sold at the Faire. Stamp Thunderhorn is also a heavy hunter for Dalaran Cooking Awards, as well as other Cooking Currency he would require for his stand. The Darkmoon Faire does not work for nothing. Players are able to purchase "Wyrmrest Commendation Badges and Ebon Blade Commendation for 10 "Dalaran Cooking Awards" each, as well as an removed epic Vanilla Recipe called "Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops" for 10 "Dalaran Cooking Awards" as well. Players are also able to purchase "Banana Charm (An Ape Companion Pet called Bananas)" for 100 "Dalaran Cooking Awards" from him. Players are also able to purchase 10 "Northern Spices" and 1 "Necrotic Rune" for 10 "Dalaran Cooking Awards" each. Cooking Skill will help you farm the Transmogrification Currency faster and he is the only vendor to sell it for that much. If the player is sad that they do not obtain Baby Spices or Old Spices as much, or waste them too fast. No worry! If you ever run out of things to do with your Cooking Awards. He will now sell Baby Spices and Old Spices here as well for 1 "Dalaran Cooking Award" each! Players may also purchase "Crate of Meat", where he stored the "Forgotten Meat" from Outland for 5 Dalaran Cooking Awards. This Crate, however, has a chance to provide Lich King Cooking Recipes needed for your achievement collection. Note, that just like the Spicy Bag. It is a very low drop rate to provide these recipes. But thanks to him, it could be achieved a tiny bit faster. All depending on your luck, of course. The players are able to exchange the following amount of currencies for "1 Darkmoon Prize Ticket": 1 "Dalaran Cooking Award", 50 "Winterfin Clams", 45 "Glowcaps", and 50 "Noblegarden Chocolates".
- Lhara, the <Darkmoon Faire Exotic Goods>, has opened her own stand and her own goods. She no longer sells any Lich King supplies for a limited supply, except for the "Northrend Mystery Gem Pouch". She still offers any 70 or lower leather or diamond for sale for anyone who wishes to purchase from her. She no longer sells any armor of the Darkmoon Faire, nor weapon. This includes rings, necklaces, and more. Lhara has become an "Epic Diamond" vendor, similar to the PvE and PvP vendors at the Capital Cities. Lhara will sell the following items: "Majestic Zircon, Cardinal Ruby, King's Amber, Eye of Zul, Dreadstone, and Ametrine" each for 6 "Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Token". The players are able to exchange the following amount of currencies for "1 Darkmoon Prize Ticket": 1 "Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Token", 10 "Dream Shards", 15 "Champion's Seal", 10 "Heavy Borean Leather". She will also sell 1 "Necrotic Rune" for 150 "Champion's Seal". Making her the first vendor to sell 1 Necrotic Rune for this currency and the only vendor.
3. The Tome of the Unrepentant (The Darkmoon Faire Lounge):
Walking up the stairs will lead players to the next location. This location is the where the Darkmoon Faire's Banker and Auctioneer are located. Players are able to go here to use them, but also to visit the nearby Carnie Lounge where the Darkmoon Faire Carnies are located at. Many Guards still surround the area to preserve peace, while a large Moonwell is within the Lounge. Players will also find a Portal to Shattrath within the Carnie's Room.
4. Coming Soon...
The Darkmoon Faire has not been completed yet. But works are in progress. We are aiming to make the Darkmoon Faire mainly focused on "Holiday Currency" rewards, including any currency that can be exchanged here for Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets. Necrotic Runes are the most notable currency that can be traded for and is most valuable, as it provides you with transmogrification if enough are harnessed. They are also the first to sell unique and exotic mounts for Necrotic Runes. Something that hasn't been seen anywhere to date. They are selling "Removed Blizzard" mounts that look exactly the same as the Armored Brown Bear and Black War Bear. However, please remember that they can be added to your mount collection and help you towards your achievement. If you are a big collector, they could also satisfy that need for you. Their main focus is to provide you more rewards with Cooking, the Secondary Profession, that people usually never take. Dalaran Cooking Awards can be obtain. Max 1 - 2 per day. Depending on drop and luck, of course. If you had good luck, it would take at least 5 days for a commendation badge. If not, at least 10 days. Other various goods they sell for Cooking Awards can be bought if your Cooking Awards really serve no purpose afterwards. Same thing goes for the Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Tokens that can be used for Epic Gem Mats and the Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets. I have been asked to make the Darkmoon Faire available every time, rather than just Calendar Days. However, I am not sure if we will do that or not. It really depends. However, the following changes will be applied and will surely be coming soon.
- Kerri Hicks, <The Strongest Woman Alive!>, will become a vendor and a repair vendor that will sell the armor, miscellaneous, and weapons that Lhara once sold for the Darkmoon Faire. She will keep her quests and that will not change. She will provide another currency exchange as well. Players will be able to trade 600 "Brewfest Prize Tokens", for 1 "Necrotic Rune" from her. She will be the first vendor to offer such exchange and the only one. She will also offer the "Darkmoon Storage Box" for sale from her since 14 Slot Bags can be purchased all around Azeroth anyway.
- Galissa Sundew, <Darkmoon Faire's Rare Exotic Goods>, will appear within the Darkmoon Faire Staging Area and will become a new vendor for the area. As her title strongly implies. She truly will be a rare exotic goods vendor. She will sell the following items: "Darkspear Pride (Horde Only)" and "Gnomeregan Pride (Alliance Only)" each for 150 "Champion's Seal". "Gnomeregan Drape (Alliance Only)" and "Darkspear Shroud (Horde Only)" each for 100 "Champion's Seal". "Dragon Kite" and "Tuskarr Kite" will be sold here for 40 "Necrotic Runes" each. She will also sell "Cat Carrier (Corrupted Kitten)" for 1 "Primordial Saronite". Players will be able to exchange 1 "Primordial Saronite" for one of the following currencies: 1 "Frozen Orb", 1 "Crusader Orb", 1 "Runed Orb", or 1 "Siren's Tear".
