The Death's Breach Upgrade is meant for both players, while the Acherus: The Ebon Hold Upgrade can only be witnessed by Death Knight players. This was made to make the areas feel once more important and used. To view the video of how both remapped areas look now. Please, use this link - www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g1rK1NE5zAv=IsNjH5WSz8Q
1. Death's Breach:
The Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave were forgotten after the Death Knight Starting Zone. However, Death's Breach is one of those re-used areas for all players to see and witness. With an innkeeper, vendors, and the access for any adventure to visit and see. It's a safe heaven for those who got lost and the location of the Ebon Blade Provisioner, a Quartermaster who is only unlocked when the player reaches Exalted with them. The vendor provides the Tabard of the Ebon Blade (Account-Bound), a unique Green Greatsword of the Ebon Blade, and a Zergling's Leash pet (All sold for the highest and most expensive currency. Happy farming). New tents have been raised. An anvil, a forge, and profession supplies can be found within the area that players can use on their way of leveling within the Eastern Plaguelands. Weapon Merchants and repair merchants are also featured in the area now. Poison Supplies, Reagent Supplies, and General Goods can also be found within the area. The Death Knights in this region can all be found in Northrend, similar to how Highlord Darion Mograine can be found as well. This area portrays where they were in the past before heading to exact their vengeance against the Lich King. It is the first rebuilt part of the Scarlet Enclave. Many new Scourge ruined structures can also be seen in the area that references the Death Knight's starting zone war over the area.
2. Acherus: The Ebon Hold:
This area returned in Legion and disappointed many fans. Here, Acherus had received the love it deserves. New training grounds, other new areas, and the old renewed areas are added to keep that nostalgic appearance. Death Knights will be able to do the quests for Noth's Special Brew once again. They will be able to get their Tabard of the Ebon Blade here before anyone else and visit their quartermaster, rather then doing a quest chain. Their Tabard that is only available at Exalted is sold here only for them if they reach friendly with their own people. Most of the Death Knights in this region can all be found in Northrend, similar to how Highlord Darion Mograine can be found as well, similar to the feature in Death's Breach.
- Bottom Floor (First Floor):
The bottom floor contains a large rune mark that signifies were the Death Knight's arrive with the Death Gate. Blue Bonfires were added in both corners of the top and lower balconies. Many vials filled with plague or blood have been added on the balconies as well, along with torches and other supplies. Two new Runeforges are featured on the bottom floor. Siouxsie the Banshee owns the bottom floor that has become her Academy and she has received new Death Knight Initiates to train (referencing to her past time of being a Death Knight trainer). All three Death Knight training areas have received an area upgrade fitting to their own specific spec, while the upper floor has three areas in the same exact location signifies exactly the same on the new and renowned floor of Acherus. The Halls of Acherus' bottom floor have one guard patrolling the area, while two new guards watch over the Initiates and the Trainers in the area. A new altar filled with skulls and runes were added in the middle of the Highlord's room. He, along with two other Death Knights, is teaching the fully trained Initiates of Ebon Hold about the Realm of Shadows and how to earn their own Acherus Deathcharger, while also teaching them how to spread the plague of the Ebon Blade upon their enemies using the skulls that references the Death Knight's starting area of collecting skulls.
- Upper Floor (Second Floor):
On the upper floor's balcony, players will find a cauldron that will ask for more Crusader Skulls. Players are able to turn in these skulls for more Noth's Special Brew once more and the area is simply known as "The Cauldron's Overlook". This area is made after players who were sad over Blizzard's removal of the Noth's Special Brew from the game. The skulls can be obtained from nearly any Scarlet Crusade at Tyr's Hand. Death Knight Initiates can be found here as well. Captured Scarlet Crusaders can be seen here imprisoned within their cages, similar to how they are seen on the first floor in few cages. Many torches, vials of blood and plague, and new seized Scourge War Machines are seen in the area. A new tent has been risen in the area and the Risen Drudges have been mostly loaded into the Caravans. Large Blue Braziers are seen right beside the Runeforges. The bug at the spikes within Acherus was without a doubt seen. Players could shove their chests into it, become stuck if they walked into it, or even use it to glitch underneath ground. Collision was added to avoid such issues, as most of the spikes also contained no collision. Runeforges that had a slight little bug from above themselves were fixed. If one looks closely, there is a large opened hole that the player can see and fall through. The gaps were closed and sealed off. Master Siege-Smith Corvus sells the Death Knight Starting Zone gear, except for the Runeblade that is sold by Dread Commander Thalanor. Corvus also sells it during the phased Death Knight starting zone. New signs are featured on every shop and newly named zone in the area. The Corpse Dust vendor only sells two types of Corpse Dust. The General Goods vendor no longer sells useless Death Knight material, such as bullets, and now sells items that are sold in the Main Capital Cities that Death Knights may actually use. Fester's Trades' Shop features a lot of new profession supplies featured at his vendor.
- Death's Reach (Third Floor):
Players will also notice the grand new elevator that they may use to reach the new floor of Acherus: The Ebon Hold that is located on the Second Floor. It is located near the teleport pad. The Death's Reach Elevator leads players to a new section called "Death's Reach". Here, the new floor has been reinforced with new Death Knight training areas, as well as new rooms. "Ebon Blade's Chargers" is a room that contains two types of Acherus Death Chargers and that serves as a stable for them. The "Iron Emporium" is a new bank and auction house room that also contains a Guild Vault and a Mailbox. Death Knights may finally get away from the world and relax here if they wanted to all day long, especially if their Hearthstone is on cooldown and if they couldn't get out. "The Duchess' Lab" is the new profession supplies area that contains both alchemy and herbalism supplies. Corpulous has also moved in to sell various food and meat. The Lab is named after "Duchess Mynx", the Ebon Blade Quartermaster, who is also located here and manages the area. Death Knights have her as well as an extra bonus. They do not have to go through a quest chain to unlock her, but rather just to speak with her within Acherus: The Ebon Hold. The "Ebon Blade's Gryphon Roost" is also featured within the new floor and it contains many of the Skeleton Gryphons of the Ebon Blade. The area serves as it's personal stables. Dread Commander Thalanor has moved in and still sells the Skeletal Gryphon for players, as intended. However, he also sells the Blue-Gear for Death Knights in case they happened to delete it. He also sells Noth's Special Brew for Ethereal Credit, if Death Knights are too lazy to farm it. The Death Knight's BETA sword called "Massacre Sword" is added within and sold for either Emblems or Honor Points that players may purchase for their transmog. This new area is considered as the third floor of Acherus: The Ebon Hold.
- What the New Ebon Hold Brings:
Acherus: The Ebon Hold is truly a sanctuary now for all Death Knights. It features bonuses for their class to portray that they are a "Hero Class". It offers them a banking, auction, and mail service, as well as a way to do a quest for Noth's Special Brew. If they are ever bored and their Hearthstone is on CD. They will have something to do, rather than just waiting for the Hearthstone to return them back to their set locations. They will also have ton of new supplies to purchase from vendors and cool items with their Emblems or Honor Points.
3. Note/Trivia:
Dreknaros and Lertion are also seen during the Death Knight Starting Zone experience. During Phase One, they are seen located on the Second Floor of Acherus: The Ebon Hold near the Corpse Dust vendor stand. They are seen talking with each other near the Bookshelves where their Guild Vault can be found. During Phase Two, both Death Knights have moved to Death's Breach where they open their services within one of the Tents for all Death Knights. Their Guild Vault moves along with them. During the Scarlet Crusade Invasion Phase, both Death Knights return and are located on the top floor's deserted balcony and stand in the place where their former master, the Lich King, once had and observe the war below. Their Guild Vault does not move with them, as it has been destroyed during the Scarlet Crusade's Invasion on Death's Breach. However, their service is still available. During the Last Phase, both Death Knights open their services at the Browman Mill and bring back their Guild Vault. Both witness the Light of Dawn from afar, along with Scourge Commander Thalanor, and regain their memories. This means they're no longer under the control of the Lich King. Both are later accompanying the new Dread Commander Thalanor and are missing at the Battle for the Ebon Hold. They are most likely reclaiming Death's Breach for the Knights of the Ebon Blade. When the Death Knights return to their homes once more, it is revealed they both opened their own Iron Emporium and that their Dread Commander has opened his own stables. They now also moved their own portable mailbox within, rather then making Death Knights walk to the only mailbox located near Death's Breach that is completely destroyed during the Scourge Invasion. The new rebuilt areas of Acherus are only featured once the Knights of the Ebon Blade are freed from the Lich King's grasp and only after the Battle for the Ebon Hold.
4. Tyr's Hand:
Is planned to be remapped in the phased versions of the Death Knight Starting Zone experience. Whether or not this will come to fruition is still unknown. But why is this empty during a Scourge Invasion? Makes no sense, which is why we are considering to remap and actually make it used. If used, it would appear in multiple phases. It would contain ordinary Scarlet Crusaders and Citizens of New Avalon visiting it's Chapels. This would include the ordinary Scarlet Crusade soldiers patrolling the area and it's Preachers within the Chapels. It's Commanders would roam the Barracks. However, during the Scarlet Invasion Phase. It would probably be used for the quest "An End To All Things..." with many Hearthglen Crusaders, Tirisfal Crusaders, and even Scarlet Balistas supporting the area to defend it against the Scourge. Death Knights would be able to invade the area and destroy it with their Frost Wyrms. However, Tyr's Hand would survive the onslaught of the Scourge, unlike New Avalon and the other Scarlet Enclave zones, and later on appear after the Death Knight Starting Zone experience is over with actual named NPCs.
5. The Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave:
Many will probably question if we will also remap this in the future and re-use it. For now, only Death's Breach will be re-used, while the other areas will remain empty and abandoned as intended. However, it might be re-used for the planned New Quests for the Legend Realm. The "maybe" planned quest givers are "Knight Commander Plaguefist, Orithos the Sky Darkener, Salanar the Horseman, Olrun the Battlecaller". It is unknown if they remained under control of the Lich King or became one of the Knights of the Ebon Blade after the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel (More specifically, the Revolt). Hargus the Gimp and Fineous could also return to provide the same service they did in the phased starting zone experience, as it is unknown what happened to them as well after the Revolt. Blizzard never told us, even after the Fall of the Lich King. For now, nothing is certain and this is all the information we can give you regarding the area.
